WHAT A RIDE! The Arctic Challenge well known developer, Terje Haakonsen is on fire! Just 2 week after wrapping up his famous Challenge in Wyllerlöypa, Oslo, he spins around inviting people using Facebook and Tacky.no, to a historic event: The first World Champinship in Snowskate.
And what a ride it was. We haven`t had that much fun in the slopes for a decade! Did you ever try riding fast on a snowskate? It`s hard but it`s awesome when you get the hang of it.
The course was furious and technical, containing rapiedly speedbumps, transitions, hard turning-gates and a launch jump as the finisher. We all met our limits, crashing thru the practice, facing the slushy snow and squizing our asses between bumps and banks.
Rudi, a young norwegian freestyler and snowboard-cross specialist, took the title beating Terje in the first of many future-SSK8-finals. Local dude, Marius Bakke, ending second, beeing the only one sticking the ollie off the launch. Great riding, Marius!
And to all you dudes and chicks out there: Go snowskate! It`s awesome!
