You got me rockin` now!

Each year the TAC administration releases a song. Read what our blogger MAN wrote about the TAC song for 2010, and listen to the song!

Leading Norwegian rock musicians has contributed to two main songs ever year. As the global music rights situation is getting more complex, NRKs TV producer Nicolai Sorensen asked TAC to make the whole soundtrack for the TAC 2010 event; everything from instrumental songs for slowmotions, beats for graphics and result lists to a title song. Owning the soundtrack makes it easier to the producer of the show and saves a lot of money and precious time. Getting music rights from international artists has become a full time job calling record companies and publishers. Better, and much more fun, creating the music yourself.

Together with the former lead gitarist of Gluecifer Rolf Ynge Uggen, now a proud member of Smoke Mohawk, TAC captain Henning Andersen made 10 tracks for the cut and paste pleasure of Mr. Sorensen.

- Hang up the goddamn call, says Uggen.

The title song, You Got Me Rockin Now (hu hu), is a raw piece of rocknroll meat – sung by legendary Thomas Felberg from We. Now also a proud member of Smoke Mohawk.

- We got nothing to hide, says Felberg.

Young musical ripper Fredrik Ryberg from Hamar Rock City has produced and mixed Henning’s tracks as well as mixing Uggen’s tracks. For a 22 year old from the Norwegian countryside, this has been a great experience:

- The speed is in the mix, says Fredrik.

Danny Young, former drummer of Gluecifer, now a proud member of….,you get it…. is killing it on Uggen‘s tracks. Pounding on the drums from hell.

- Fire, gasoline, I guess you know what I mean, says Danny.

Young and multi-talented Marius Hagen, not so famous – yet – is keeping it real on bass and backing vocals. Marius has many musical projects going on as a member of Jaqueline, Team Me and upcoming producer/singer/songwriter. Look out for Marius in the years to come!

- The crew is downtown, pulling out their guns, says Marius.

Fredrik’s childhood friend, John Birkeland Hansen, is playing drums on click like you’ve never heard before. Considered he’s been recording music since he was 13, John is experienced in the age of 22. Thomas Nordby, also from Hamar, AKA Man, also known from legendary Rasta Suicide Snowboard Team and Killing Machine, all-around bad-ass, is contributing on backing vocals.

- Hu, hu, is their comment.

Listen to the song here on the TAC website and watch out for the no-budget video produced by Nugget & Taylor, filmed by Hilde and Man.
