Danny Davis confirmed for The Oakley Arctic Challenge

Coming back from injury, Danny Davis is having a killer season, winning both the first Dew Tour halfpipe and the Burton European Open slopestyle last week. Now he is heading for Norway for more glory and fun in the TTR 6 star event The Oakley Arctic Challenge (TAC).

Due to back to back ankle injuries Danny has not been able to attend TAC for a couple years, and he is looking forward to coming back.
“The Arctic Challenge is one of my favourite events to attend. I have so much respect for Terje and the TAC crew, they provide a perfect quarterpipe, and an event that really focuses on the riders. I love coming to Norway and being a part of this event, it is an honour to be invited”, says Davis.
“Danny is always on fire – both on and off hill. He never disappoints with his positive energy. Being a top dog for several years, Danny can win halfpipe, slopestyle and even the quarterpipe on a good day. No matter if he wins or not: He is great to watch and to hang with”, says Terje Haakonsen.
Danny is joining a solid crew of snowboard superstars already confirmed for TAC: Two times defending TAC champion Kevin Pearce, Travis Rice, Nicolas Muller, Shayne Pospisil, Risto Mattila, Antti Autti, Peetu Piiroinen, Jake Blauvelt, Iouri Podlatchikov and Terje Haakonsen are prepared to dive into the belly of the beast.
Celebrating 10 years since the first TAC, this year’s event is aiming for the stars – literally. Although home of the quarterpipe world record (Terje Haakonsen 9.8 meters from 2007), the 10 meter mark is still up for grabs. And so is the Oakley Gold Time Bomb watch worth 25 000 USD along with the 100 000 dollars in cash prize purse. First prize is 35 000 USD and highest air is awarded with 12 000 USD.
The Oakley Arctic Challenge 2009 is starting on Monday the 16th of February. There will be a separate highest air session on Thursday the 19th and finals on Saturday the 21st.
